WORKING WITH (VULNERABLE) CHILDRENHaving a protection system naturally requires the knowledge to detect how to protect children;
from what/who, in which surrounding and using which tools. Since the children are still in the
development period and the incidents experienced can cause damage on them, people working with
children should be aware of the techniques to approach them and ensure monitoring them in the right
way to be able to decrease or completely prevent the remained damage. In addition, creating the safe
space where all children can play together, feel free to express themselves and which contributes to
their development in a right way is very important. Thus, this training aims to give knowledge to
participants on those elements and to increase their efficiency in working with children.
Within the framework drawn above, this training aims;
• to increase knowledge and the visibility on the children’s rights, children protection and
safeguarding,
• to create awareness on that children are different than the grown-ups and more exposed to harm
or danger,
• to realize the situations which can negatively effect children,
• to monitor children and realize the moments when child doesn’t feel included or safe,
• that the organizations develop and set their own systems before starting action and use this
system during the action,
• to offer tools and strategies that can be used in working with children.

CONSIDERING GENDER BASED VIOLENCE
IN PROJECT DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION
Gender Based Violence has been a known theme across the world for the last 50 years. The
term is rooted in other subjects like Gender Equality, Human Rights, Women Rights and Equality in
general. The dissemination of the theme and becoming a training topic in different learning
environments in many places of the world have dramatically increased the awareness and action on this
issue. However, gender based violence is still visible and problematic in different contexts notably
because of cultural and contextual reasons. Therefore, with this training, we would like to encourage
and spread the growing awareness of gender equality, human rights and sexual and gender based
violence. In this training, we will talk about the concepts and cases from the field which will make this
issue more visible for the people working in civil society, nonprofit environments, local organizations
or government bodies.
Within the framework drawn above, this training aims to;
• create awareness on the themes of gender equality, women’s rights, human rights and gender
based violence,
• realize biases within our communities,
• detect and monitor the cases of gender based violence,
• increase knowledge towards segregation, discrimination and encourage thinking about
inclusion,
• teach and make participants think about causes and effects of gender based violence,
• promote gender equality in community projects and activities,
• mainstream gender equality in organizational projects and activities,
• create awareness on the gender based violence and gender inequality in refugee context,
• how cultural differences can cause gender inequality and violence,
• find out how gender equality can prosper our organizations and communities,
• develop strategies and tools to increase gender equality within our communities, projects and
activities.
