WORKING WITH (VULNERABLE) CHILDREN | Having a protection system naturally requires the knowledge to detect how to protect children; from what/who, in which surrounding and using which tools. Since the children are still in the development period and the incidents experienced can cause damage on them, people working with children should be aware of the techniques to approach them and ensure monitoring them in the right way to be able to decrease or completely prevent the remained damage. In addition, creating the safe space where all children can play together, feel free to express themselves and which contributes to their development in a right way is very important. Thus, this training aims to give knowledge to participants on those elements and to increase their efficiency in working with children. | Within the framework drawn above, this training aims; • to increase knowledge and the visibility on the children’s rights, children protection and safeguarding, • to create awareness on that children are different than the grown-ups and more exposed to harm or danger, • to realize the situations which can negatively effect children, • to monitor children and realize the moments when child doesn’t feel included or safe, • that the organizations develop and set their own systems before starting action and use this system during the action, • to offer tools and strategies that can be used in working with children. | • volunteers, • youth workers, • civil society staff, professionals and NGO workers, • social workers, • project managers and developers, • community workers and leaders. | Day 1: Child Rights Day 2: Child Protection Day 3: Child Safeguarding Day 4: Working With Children Day 5: Closure |
