Digital Bridges

Connecting Generations Through Technology

Digital Bridges is a 1-year intergenerational digital literacy program designed for older adults (60+) who are at risk of social isolation. It is funded by Erasmus + KA220 grant by European commission.

Our goal is to help seniors build confidence, stay connected, and safely use digital tools for everyday life.

This program combines basic digital skills learning with social connection, through group activities, online learning module (step-by-step guides) designed especially for seniors.

Why Elderly Digital Training Still Matters in 2025

In the EU, only 28% of people aged 65–74 have basic digital skills. For older women, this drops to just 25% (European Commission, 2024).

Basic Digital Skills?

Having basic skills means the ability to use digital tools to perform everyday tasks safely and efficiently. Imagine booking an online doctor’s appointment, checking a bus schedule or safe online banking.

Many older adults own smartphones or tablets, but without patient support, these tools often feel more stressful than helpful. Fear of mistakes or scams can lead to avoidance and isolation.

Gaining Digital Confidence isn’t just about using devices, it’s about staying connected to loved ones, services, and everyday life while learning how to stay safe, spot misinformation, and navigate the digital world responsibly.

That’s why, even in 2025, the need for tailored digital learning programs for seniors is relevant.

Our Approach

Humor, Humane & Contact First

We focus on creating inclusive, accessible, and human-centered digital experiences for the elderly because technology should foster connection, not isolation.

With this approach, we help seniors build the confidence and skills to navigate the digital world safely, responsibly, and ethically. This aligns with the goals of the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025.

Looking to bring seniors together in a meaningful way?

Our volunteers are happy to organize engaging activities like digital Q&As, Kahoot games, and hands-on sessions to help seniors feel more confident with everyday tech, all in a space that’s familiar to them.

Feel free to reach out. If you’re part of a care home, NGO, or local community group, we’d love to partner with you to host an activity in your space. Contact us at stichting.sunnydays@gmail.com.
