Digital Bridges: Connecting Generations Through Technology
Erasmus + KA220 Project
Digital Bridges: Connecting Generations Through Technology
Empowering older adults with digital skills through a friendly, fun, and intergenerational training program.
Digital Bridges is a 1-year intergenerational digital literacy project designed for older adults (60+) who are at risk of social isolation. It is funded by Erasmus + KA220 grant by European commission.
Our goal is to help seniors build confidence, stay connected, and safely use digital tools for everyday life.
This program combines basic digital skills learning with tools to create social connection online and offline, through group activities and online learning module (step-by-step guides).
Stichting Sunny Days is the Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator and partner for this Erasmus+ KA220 project, which highlights the importance of digital literacy for the elderly. The project focuses on participatory solutions to combat loneliness and create more engagement between young people and the elderly.

Project Overview
In December 2024, we officially launched our new international cooperation project, Digital Bridges: Connecting Generations through Technology.
Partner organizations from the Netherlands (Sunny Days), Austria (Meine Welt), and Turkey (Engelsiz ve Mutlu Yaşam Derneği) gathered under the leadership of the German organization Perspektive Vielfalt gGmbH on December 13–14 in Bonn. Together, we aim to enhance digital literacy among senior citizens and foster transgenerational communication between seniors and young volunteers. During the two-day meeting, we discussed the objectives, strategies, and timeline of the project.
This project aims to bridge the digital divide between younger and older generations by providing digital literacy training to elderly individuals through a mentorship model where young volunteers will guide them. The focus is on reducing isolation, improving digital skills, and fostering intergenerational connections.
